Every lawn care company has to make the most of their time and product to be successful. As a one-man show, Briggs Badurski really has to.
Badurski owns Palmetto Turf and Landscape Solutions in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, which is in the business of aeration, topdressing, design, and other premium turf services.
Outgrowing the Old Sprayer
“The sprayer I had before my Steel Green was small, and I needed more capacity,” said Badurski. “I also wanted more technology, because most sprayers aren’t cutting-edge, and since it’s just me doing the work, I need the best of the best.”
The climate of South Carolina made finding the right machine all the more important.
“Here, we spray almost 12 months out of the year, because it never gets truly cold enough for anything to die,” said Badurski. “I needed something durable that would also help me stand out.”
The “Goldilocks” Moment
Badurski found out about Steel Green, and ended up purchasing an SG42 with our Opti-Rate spray system.
“I looked at the SG36, and I wanted a bigger hopper,” said Badurski. “I do a lot of large commercial properties for a couple of different, bigger landscaping companies, so I needed that extra capacity. I think the SG46 would’ve been too big for my needs and the SG36 would’ve been too small. So, to me, the SG42 was just right.”
Flawless Performance
When we asked Badurski how his machine has performed (he’s put 100 hours on it so far), he replied, “flawlessly.”
Right after he got his new machine, Badurski was tapped to assist another landscape company when their chemical sprayer walked off the job. His friend, another LCO, was also there to help.
“We were spraying side by side, and his sprayer has dual 13-gallon tanks, and he ended up spraying about three to three and a half tanks,” said Badurski. “With Opti-Rate and my dual 12-gallon tanks, I ended up using about a tank and a half on the same amount of turf.”
“I was talking with Kodi, and I told him the Opti-Rate system saves me 25% as far as time and chemicals go,” said Badurski.
The Verdict?
“I really can’t brag enough about the machine,” said Badurski. “I love it and the green color, too. It stands out among other machines and it really leaves an imprint on people because they know it’s a Steel Green.”
“As for the Opti-Rate system, I would recommend it all day. The time and chemical savings are well worth the price of the system,” said Badurski.
