Are you considering a new Steel Green machine but can’t decide between two models? Find a comparison below to help you distill what our standard spreader/sprayers have in common and what makes each model unique.

SG36 and SG42
Our two smallest spreader/sprayers, the SG36 and SG42, have many similarities. Both have a 30-gallon spray capacity and variable spray width of up to eight feet. They also have the same hopper capacity of 120 pounds. With these specs, both machines can cover 120,000 square feet per fill using ¼-gallon spray nozzles.

The difference between these two machines is their dimensions. The SG42 is 41 inches wide, while the SG36 is 36.5 inches across. This smaller frame allows the SG36 to fit through a 36-inch gate, which the SG42 can’t.

SG36 and SG46
The SG36 and SG46 are perfect for small to mid-sized companies. Both have a variable spray width of up to eight feet and variable spread width of up to 25 feet. Liquid and granular capacity are where these two diverge. The SG36 has a 30-gallon spray capacity and 120-pound hopper capacity, while the SG46 has a 50-gallon spray capacity and 220-lb hopper capacity. With ¼-gallon spray nozzles, the SG36 can cover 120,000 square feet per fill. The SG46 can cover 200,000 square feet with the same nozzle size.

The SG36 and SG46 also come standard with different hoses. The SG36 has a 15-foot coil hose, while the SG46 has a 75-foot hose reel. The SG36 is compatible with the 75-foot hose reel as an optional customization. Another significant difference between these two models is their dimensions, with the SG36 fitting through a 36-inch gate and the SG46 fitting through a 46-inch gate.

SG46 and SG52
Our two most popular machines, the SG46 and SG52, offer versatility without compromising capacity. Both have a 220-pound hopper capacity. The SG46 has a 50-gallon spray capacity, and the SG52 has a 60-gallon spray capacity. This size allows the SG52 to cover 240,000 square feet per fill with ¼-gallon spray nozzles, while the SG46 can cover 200,000 square feet.

The SG46 and SG52 both have 22-inch commercial-grade rear turf tires. They also both have an adjustable spray width, with the SG46 reaching eight feet and the SG52 up to 10 feet.

SG52 and SG36
At 60 gallons, the SG52 has double the liquid capacity of the SG36 and can cover double the ground per fill (240,000 square feet compared to 120,000 square feet). The granular capacity of the SG52 is almost double as well, at 220 pounds to the SG36’s 120 pounds.

The SG52 has a 75-foot hose reel, while the SG36 has a 15-foot coil hose. The 75-foot hose reel is an optional customization for the SG36, though. Another difference between the two machines is spray width. The SG52 has a variable spray width of up to 10 feet, while the SG36 is up to eight feet.

If you’re still unsure which model is best for you, find a dealer to schedule a demo in your area.
